Perfectionism Leads To Procastination
Why You Need To Stop Believing The Lie That Everything Has To Be Perfect

“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive.” - Dalai Lama
There are a lot of perfectionists out there. I find that in my life, there are areas that I want to be absolutely perfect, and if it’s not I grow frustrated. Perfectionism is often associated with success and high achievement. However, the pursuit of perfection actually holds potential to hinder success and lead to negative outcomes.
One way that perfectionism can impede success is through procrastination. People who strive for perfection may delay taking action until they feel they can produce a perfect result. This can lead to missed opportunities and decreased productivity. In contrast, those who are willing to take action, even if the results are not perfect, are more likely to make progress towards their goals and achieve success. It’s then through taking action that they are able to learn and grow. You’re likely going to the first time you do it. Your might as well have a positive relationship with failure and embrace the results not being perfect. That’s where ultimate growth happens.
Succes is about progress, not perfection. It’s through this progress that the BUILD actually happens. Success is not necessarily about achieving perfection, but rather about making progress towards your goals. This means learning from mistakes and making improvements over time. Those who are willing to take risks, learn from failure, and make adjustments along the way are often more successful than those who strive for unattainable perfection- mainly because they have put in countless reps and have learned what works over time rather than assume what’s perfect. That’s what building is all about,
We’ll look a little more tomorrow into how perfectionism can also lead to burnout.
